This is the Free Again EP, which is appropriate since it's free for download again, but also is the title track, which is about being free from some responsibilities and stresses. Once again, the big arena rock choruses, ornate and busy production, as well as the pop songs with rock n' roll energy are in full force here.

We're using EPs as a way of bridging past releases with future ones, as a bit of an extended single with continuity to the next release. The mix here of "A Muted Lie" is an alternate mix from the first album, and has the guitars mixed out (except for the guitar solo) for a more pop-oriented take on the track.

The Four Chords

Inspired by the history of pop/ rock/ powerpop, The Four Chords have a keen pop sense and combine multi-part vocal harmonies with a large dose of over the top rock n' roll--power chords, big guitar solos and guilty pleasure arena rock. Influences include The Who, Cheap Trick, Beatles, Big Star, Dwight Twilley, Replacements, Tom Petty, Manic Street Preachers, Ramones, Redd Kross and many others. ... more
